Welcome!
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the 17th president of the Minneapolis Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. I am excited to work alongside the 39 marvelous mothers in our chapter who are dedicated to providing quality programming for our children.
We had a very trying year navigating through the pandemic. However, in that Minneapolis fashion, we were able to pivot and continue to provide great programming for our children and the community. As we slowly try to find our way back to a sense of normalcy, strong and exceptional programming will be our emphasis this year.
Our goal this program year is to continue to provide enriching and engaging activities that will have an impact on the growth and development of our children. We will follow our programmatic thrusts: STE(A)M, education, culture, health, civic, legislative, social, and recreation which will help to shape and strengthen our children to be productive in school and in society.
In 2022, the Minneapolis Chapter will mark the 70th Anniversary of its charter. Throughout the year our chapter will have the opportunity to celebrate the amazing leadership and legacy that has been established in Minneapolis over the past 70 years.
We will also focus on our Rights of Passage Program which has been this chapter’s award winning signature event for 24 years. The fundraising from this program has served our local community as well as our national foundation. We are so elated to have ten talented young men from various schools throughout the city commit to our program this year. As we try to reimagine what our culminating event will look like in 2022, we are excited for the mentoring and growth that these young men will get to experience over these next six months.
I am so thankful to my illustrious executive committee. These mothers share their time and talents to ensure our commitment to making the Minneapolis Chapter stronger than ever before. I look forward to a very productive year filled with fun and excitement for our children and our mothers.
In Motherhood and Service to Our Children,
Jennifer Harris
